Operating across multiple international markets, the organisation develops and distributes highly engaging content to a vast global audience. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded Legal Counsel to join a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Acting as a trusted advisor to business units across global operations, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting commercial initiatives, advising on monetisation strategies, and safeguarding intellectual property. The position requires a hands-on approach, sound judgement, and the ability to operate effectively where information may be incomplete.
Key responsibilities:
- Draft, negotiate, and finalise a wide range of commercial agreements across digital and technology-driven value chains, including partnerships, licensing, and monetisation arrangements.
- Manage transactions end-to-end, from initial instruction through to completion, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines.
- Develop, maintain, and improve contract templates and scalable legal playbooks.
- Review and negotiate vendor, supplier, and partnership agreements.
- Design and implement intellectual property protection strategies, including global trademark portfolio management.
- Draft and negotiate IP licensing agreements.
- Advise on IP infringement issues and support enforcement strategies in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
About you:
- Qualified solicitor in England & Wales.
- Approximately 3–5 years’ PQE, with at least 2 years in-house experience (flexibility around level of experience).
- Strong background in commercial contracting with proven experience negotiating complex agreements.
- Solid understanding of intellectual property law, particularly trademarks and licensing.
- Exposure to digital, mobile, gaming, or ad tech environments is advantageous.
