We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated Teacher to join our thriving Special Educational Needs (SEN) College community. This vacancy is for 14 teaching hours per week (a total of 23.5 hours per week), worked over 5 days per week.

Our purpose-built college was the first of its kind when it opened on our Tile Hill campus in 1971 and has been a pioneering provider of further education for young people with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities ever since. More than a quarter of our 250 employees have been with us for 15 years or more in a variety of roles including management, administrative, technical, care, catering and teaching. Job Description

Main purpose and scope: To deliver outstanding teaching, learning and assessment across the Pathway, in order to maximise learner progress and outcomes in meeting their educational, social and personal goals, as identified in their Education, Health and Care Plans.

Responsibilities and accountabilities:

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of a positive culture that embeds the College’s values and beliefs, and ensures that learners and staff feel valued, safe and supported.
• Be a role model for outstanding employability skills and practices.
• Present a positive, proactive attitude and take personal responsibility for own actions.
• Commit to a culture of continuous improvement and ensure that own contribution to the role and the College is of a very high standard.
• Represent the College positively and effectively in all dealings with external partners, parents, stakeholders and agencies.
• Take responsibility for actively participating in the appraisal process and own continuing professional development arising from that process and ongoing feedback.
• Be responsible for taking all appropriate measures to safeguard young people and promote their welfare and actively promote Equality & Diversity in the College.
• Support learners to improve their maths and English skills through everyday functional experiences.
• Deputise for the Pathway Leader as and when required.
