As part of the ongoing development and growth of the Motor Vehicle provision at our Folly Lane campus in Hereford, we are seeking to appoint a Full-time Motor Vehicle Lecturer. Salary: Up to £38,066 depending on qualifications and experience.
To deliver a range of subjects to mainly full time 16‑19 year old students and apprentices, studying Motor Vehicle qualifications at Levels 1, 2 & 3. Subjects being sought include:
- Spark Ignition & Compression Ignition Engines
- Health and Safety Practices in Vehicle Maintenance
- Steering & Suspension Systems
- Components & Maintenance
- Routine Vehicle Maintenance Processes & Procedures
- Vehicle Braking Systems
- Diagnosis and Rectification of Vehicle Electrical Auxiliary Systems Faults
- Diagnosis and Rectification of Vehicle Transmission Systems Faults
- Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Technology (advantageous)
- Vehicle Air Conditioning Systems (advantageous)
As part of the role, you will also be expected to carry out the associated organisational/administrative processes including preparation of work, marking and assessment, course tutorship, student welfare and counselling, and to support and participate fully in the ongoing Faculty and College activities to achieve the College's key mission and objectives.
The ideal candidate will be fully qualified (minimum L3) and have relevant work/industrial experience within the vehicle repair industry. Those without teaching experience, but willing to train towards, are welcome to apply. Although this is a full-time role, the college will consider applicants who wish to be considered under a fractional basis.
