About the Role
You’ll play a crucial role in maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and functionality of our college facilities. From locking/unlocking buildings to minor repairs and groundskeeping, you’ll ensure our campus runs smoothly. This role offers variety, with tasks ranging from buildings maintenance and decorating to fire alarm testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Securing buildings and operating alarm systems.
- Conducting general maintenance and repairs.
- Carrying out Estates health and safety checks.
- Monitoring site cleanliness and supplies.
- Assisting with porterage and deliveries.
Skills and Experience
- Practical skills in identifying and carrying out minor repairs.
- An understanding of basic health and safety.
- Self-motivated and organised, able to work on own initiative or as part of a team.
- Good communication skills, friendly and approachable.
- Able to take pride in the appearance and condition of the site, both internally and externally, paying particular attention to the buildings and surrounding environment.
- Full UK, manual driving licence.
Working Hours
This is a full-time, permanent role of 37 hours per week, operating on a rolling three-week shift pattern alongside other Estates staff, currently:
- Week 1: Mon – Fri: 7:00am – 3:00pm
- Week 2: Mon – Fri: 8:00am – 4:00pm
- Week 3: Mon, Thu, Fri: 11:00am – 7:00pm; Tue, Wed: 2:00pm – 10:00pm
