Introduction
Do you want to make a difference to the health and wellbeing of your community? We are looking for passionate and driven individuals to join our Talk Community Healthy Lifestyle Team. The service provides integrated behaviour support for smoking cessation, weight management, alcohol reduction, physical activity, all embedded in sustainable behaviour change and positive wellbeing. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in helping residents access the right healthy lifestyle support at the right time. You’ll be the first point of contact for clients, health professionals and partners—making a real difference every day.
What will you be doing?
- Be the welcoming first point of contact for clients, handling enquiries by phone, email and face‑to‑face.
- Process incoming referrals and manage confidential client records.
- Schedule appointments and support the day‑to‑day coordination of the service.
- Deliver evidence‑based Very Brief Advice (VBA) to help people understand their support options.
- Support Health Trainers with group sessions, materials and venue bookings.
- Assist with monitoring, data collection and report preparation.
- Organise meetings, take minutes and coordinate follow‑up actions.
- Help with events, outreach activities, and community engagement.
- Maintain stocks of leaflets, resources and materials.
- Process purchase orders, invoices and basic financial tasks in line with council policy.
- Carry out general administrative duties including word processing, Excel‑based data entry, scanning and filing.
- Ensure compliance with data protection and safeguarding procedures.
