Osborne Court is a unique specialist service that provides Replacement Care to support young adults (over 18 years old) and adults with learning disabilities in Worcestershire. The service supports individuals who require nursing care, are assessed as having complex health needs, and may present with behaviours that may challenge. This role includes admitting and discharging service users and their belongings, with regular communications with families and other professionals involved in their care such as day centre staff, college staff, GP, and Community Learning Disability Nurses. In the absence of the qualified nurse in the bungalow, you will be responsible for leading the shift, although a qualified nurse will be on site in another bungalow.

Responsibilities

  • Lead shifts in the absence of a qualified nurse (on-site nurse in another bungalow).
  • Admit and discharge service users and manage their belongings.
  • Perform daily tasks including washing bedding and clothes, shopping for food, and preparing meals; support service users with meals.
  • Deliver high standards and quality outcomes, ensuring the service user is at the heart of care decisions.
  • Provide hands-on care, including personal care tasks and moving and handling, alongside medicines management.
  • Administer medications and carry out specific clinical interventions as required.
  • Deliver person-centred care with regular reviews with families to ensure needs are at the heart of care.
  • Complete Medicines Management training and dispense/administer medications under the direction of the Qualified Nurse on shift.
  • Support the team to deliver a clinically effective service and help create a welcoming, safe, and positive experience for service users.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Dynamic and motivated Senior Care Assistant or equivalent with the ability to support other team members.
  • Commitment to providing a positive experience that makes service users feel welcome, safe, and confident.

This post is for 37.5 hours per week and includes flexible day and night shifts to meet the needs of the service. The shift patterns are 07:00–14:00, 14:00–21:00 or 21:00–07:30 and include bank holidays. Please note the Trust will not routinely provide sponsorship to work for this role. In addition, to meet Home Office salary threshold you must have the significant experience to be offered at the top of the pay band AND work a minimum of 35.5 hours per week.
