Overview
Worcestershire Public Health Nursing 0-19 years team has an exciting opportunity for a Band 3 Infant Feeding Support Worker. The role involves working in the community to help mothers and their partners achieve their feeding goals, undertaking home visits, facilitating breastfeeding groups, and delivering antenatal infant feeding sessions. The post holder should be compassionate, a good communicator and a team player. Under the direction of a Public Health Nurse, provide support and advice to women and their partners regarding feeding their baby, advise families about the health benefits of breastfeeding in individual and group settings, and advocate for breastfeeding.
Facilitate Breast Buddy feeding groups at Family Hubs and other venues; undertake feeding assessments under the direction of Public Health Nurse colleagues; support Breast Buddy volunteers as needed; co-deliver antenatal Infant Feeding workshops; work within the WHO International Code of Marketing of Breastmilk Substitutes; and contribute to achieving UNICEF Baby Friendly Accreditation. Help parents build close and loving relationships with their babies and support them in doing so.

Responsibilities
- Provide support and advice to women and their partners regarding infant feeding, under the direction of a Public Health Nurse.
- Advise families about the health benefits of breastfeeding in individual and group settings.
- Facilitate Breast Buddy feeding groups at Family Hubs and other venues.
- Undertake feeding assessments under the direction of Public Health Nurse colleagues.

Service Details
- Hours: 35 per week (minimum 18 hours per week considered).
- Service operates Monday-Friday (excluding Bank Holidays).
- Travel across the County required; lone working is part of the role; work base to be discussed at interview.
- Role requires ability to meet travel requirements; sponsorship to work for the role is not routinely provided.
- To meet Home Office salary threshold, significant experience is required to be offered top of the pay band and to work a minimum of 35.5 hours per week.
