Job Summary
Permanent services supervisor vacancy at the ELGAR UNIT, WORCESTER. 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 15:30 – 19:30.
Location & Working Pattern
Elgar Unit, Newtown Road, Worcester, WR5 1JG.
Permanent contract, part‑time (20 hours). Band 3 – salary £24,937 to £26,598 pro‑rata.

Main Duties
Provide a comprehensive housekeeping service across the Trust’s local community hospitals, inpatient settings, health centres and clinics. Work alongside clinical and infection‑control teams to maintain cleanliness to NHS standards and the Trust’s strategic cleaning plan. Duties include general cleaning (bathrooms, kitchens, wards, theatres, office areas) and specialised processes, such as machine cleaning.
Responsibilities
Deliver a fully comprehensive and professional cleaning service in line with NHS standards and Housekeeping schedules. Liaise with clinical and non‑clinical teams to relay information that may impact other services. Ensure the environment remains high standard of cleanliness and support patient care.
Qualifications – Essential
- NVQ1 in Housekeeping or equivalent experience.
- Understanding of cleaning standards and NHS compliance.
- Ability to communicate clearly in English.
- Previous experience in the cleaning industry (required).
Qualifications – Desirable
- Certificates in Health and Safety, Manual Handling.
- NVQ2 in Housekeeping.
- Supervisory experience in the cleaning industry, particularly NHS cleaning.
- Any other job‑related training.
Additional Criteria
- Current right to work in the UK.
- Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check required.
- No sponsorship available.
