PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Monitor and support the Discipline Alternative Education program (DAEP). Work with students, teachers, and school administrators under the DAEP Teacher to ensure the effective operations of the DAEP program. Assist the teacher in preparation and management of instructional activities and administrative requirements. Work under the supervision of the DAEP teachers and the campus administrator.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Texas educational aide certificate
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- Ability to work well with high-school-age students
- Ability to implement firm but fair student discipline
- Ability to communicate effectively
EXPERIENCE:
- Prefer experience working with children (i.e., as a substitute teacher or as a teacher’s aide.
