PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Maintain safe and attractive grounds and landscaping for the district.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
- Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and a good driving record
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- Ability to read and understand written instructions
- Ability to communicate (verbally)
- Ability to operate tractor and landscaping equipment
- Ability to operate riding or power mower, power tools, and hand tools
- Plant shrubs, trees, and flowers. Prune trees and shrubs.
- Spray for weeds and insects using unrestricted chemicals as required.
- Operate large power lawn mowers, edgers, hand tools, and large vehicles associated with ground maintenance and landscaping activities
- Operate pickup trucks, flat rack trucks, and dump trucks for hauling purposes and for trash and debris removal
- Performs minor maintenance and repair on equipment
- Use of power equipment
EXPERIENCE:
- Preferred but not required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Moderate walking, standing, climbing, heavy lifting, carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching
- Work outside and inside, with exposure to all types of weather and noise.
