Job type: 42 hours per week
Salary: £16.59 per hour
Provide a safe and secure environment for all staff, tenants, visitors, students and contractors, following instructions from Control Room Supervisor and the designated Shift Manager. Be able to lead with a service excellence approach to all customers in line with the site Assignment Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures.
Duties:
- Service excellence to all customers.
- Monitor and operate CCTV systems, conducting CCTV patrols in compliance with GDPR best practices.
- Fire panel management, responding to activations, and assisting with fire evacuations.
- Maintain logs and documentation, including fire log books and digital reporting systems (E-DOB, Genetec, Datastation, EverBridge, SharePoint, Locale and more).
- Manage team deployment timetable, ensuring Officers are assigned to key areas and respond to incidents when required.
- Complete accurate reports and incident documentation to a high standard.
- Emergency response.
- First Aid and First Responder duties.
- Fire Marshal and refuge assistance duties.
- Remaining flexible to last‑minute requests and proactive.
- Perform Security Officer duties when required.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience:
- Valid SIA Door Supervisor license.
- ACT Awareness certificate (completed within last 12 months).
- ACT Security certificate (completed within last 12 months).
- Be confident you can undertake 100% of all specific duties.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a Control Room environment.
- Strong written and spoken English.
- Strong incident report and writing skills.
- Knowledge (or previous experience) of Genetec systems.
- Valid Fire Marshal certificate.
- Excellent levels of customer service, communication & attention to detail at all times.
- Proactive and organised.
- Strong IT skills (Microsoft Word, Outlook & Excel) and telephony skills.
- Strong problem‑solving and prioritisation skills.
- Flexible in approach to daily duties and additional events or taskings.
- Adaptable to new ways of working in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
- Team player who works well with others.
