Reports To: Head of Security & Infrastructure, Security Account Manager, Security Shift Manager

Job type: 42 hours per week

Salary: £15.70 per hour

Overview

Provide a safe and secure environment for all staff, tenants, visitors, students and contractors, following instructions from Control Room Supervisor and the designated Shift Manager. Be able to lead with a service excellence approach to all customers in line with the site Assignment Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures.

Duties

  • Service excellence to all customers.
  • Monitor and operate CCTV systems, conducting CCTV patrols in compliance with GDPR best practices.
  • Fire panel management, responding to activations, and assisting with fire evacuations.
  • Maintain logs and documentation, including fire log books and digital reporting systems (E-DOB, Genetec, Datastation, EverBridge, SharePoint, Locale and more).
  • Manage team deployment timetable, ensuring Officers are assigned to key areas and respond to incidents when required.
  • Complete accurate reports and incident documentation to a high standard.
  • Emergency response.
  • First Aid and First Responder duties.
  • Fire Marshal and refuge assistance duties.
  • Remaining flexible to last-minute requests and proactive.
  • Perform Security Officer duties when required.

Knowledge / Skills / Experience

  • Valid SIA Door Supervisor license.
  • ACT Awareness certificate (completed within last 12 months).
  • ACT Security certificate (completed within last 12 months).
  • Be confident you can undertake 100% of all specific duties.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a Control Room environment.
  • Strong written and spoken English.
  • Strong incident report and writing skills.
  • Knowledge (or previous experience) of Genetec systems.
  • Valid Fire Marshal certificate.
  • Excellent levels of customer service, communication & attention to detail at all times.
  • Proactive and organised.
  • Strong IT skills (Microsoft Word, Outlook & Excel) and telephony skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and prioritisation skills.
  • Flexible in approach to daily duties and additional events or taskings.
  • Adaptable to new ways of working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Team player who works well with others.
