Field Operations Manager, Business Integration

Reporting to a Senior Region Vice President, the main objective of the Acquisition Integration and Field Operations Manager is to focus on the day to day needs of merging an acquired company with the Herc Rentals. This role is responsible for handling unique situations that occur on a day-to-day basis while also integrating culture and standard operating processes. It is a support role to District and RVP leadership, ensuring smooth transitions and alignment with Herc Rentals\’ standards and practices.
This role is part of a rotational program aimed at preparing high-potential candidates for future leadership roles.
What you will do…
- Work closely with cross-functional departments supporting newly acquired businesses, including M&A Team, Accounting, Fleet, Operations Support, etc.
- Manage the on-the-ground integration of acquired businesses.
- Manage the team, including scheduling and coverage for integration support.
- Plan and report weekly tasks and goals.
- Contract Conversion, PO/WO Conversion, and Re-Branding.
- Track and report on integration activities, improved performance, and cultural alignment.
- Opportunity to work on cross-functional business projects that directly impact and improve functional organization performance.
- Provide training on the Operating Model, PCT Product Knowledge, and Herc Rentals processes.
- Maintain a detailed project plan, schedule, and resource assignments.
- Identify risks, potential failure points, and develop countermeasures to avoid missing timelines. Identify quick wins aligned with initiatives.
- Coach and mentor of field employees executing the changes in the field. Accepting accountability for the initiative\’s success.
- Manage business and stakeholder expectations. Facilitate discussions and issue resolutions between functional teams.
- Responsible for on-site conversion, training, and timeline management on all Greenfield, Relocations, and Acquisition Integration projects.
Requirements
- 2 years or more of equipment rental industry experience.
- BA/BS University degree in business administration preferred
- Able to commit to a minimum of 24 to 36 months in the role
- Process Excellence and Operational experience at managerial level in the equipment rental industry with responsibility for multiple departments and/or locations.
- A strong understanding of Rentalman
- No relocation required, however extensive travel will be required (50% to 75% overnight travel throughout the assigned region)
Skills
- Knowledge of Process Improvement methodologies.
- Solid and proven computer skill set (knowledge of MS Office including Project, Excel, Access, PowerPoint is preferred).
- Ability to follow up with Integration Employees and Herc Upper Management in a timely manner.
- Ability to manage Integration projects start to finish.
- Able to walk into unfamiliar environments and adjust rapidly to the setting.
- Attention to detail and multi-tasking
- Must react to changing business needs.
- Support focused and able to work effectively with all levels of the company.
- Ability to give clear and concise feedback and directions.
- Coaching, problem solving, root cause analysis.
- Demonstrated proficiency in facilitating teams and diverse groups.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally.
Pay Range: Based on Experience
