Writing & Journalism Intern

This is a part-time remote role for a Writing & Journalism Intern. The intern will be responsible for creating environmentally focussed written content, conducting research on environmental news, and communicating effectively in the Herbivore tone of voice.

We hope to flex your writing muscles without the use of AI and to think about incorporating the arts into a climate focussed mission.

This role is unpaid, however will allow you to produce two articles a week, which will be published on the Herbivore website and instagram, for you to use on your portfolio, to demonstrate your writing style, and to give you industry practise in being able to meet deadlines,

Daily tasks will involve web content writing, creative writing, and assisting with various writing projects and contribution to the quarterly Herbivore Newsletter – \’The Herbivorian\’.

About you

• Excellent Creative Writing skills, without the use of AI
• Flair for language and story structure
• Looking to gain experience in writing and to build a portfolio with industry experience
• Strong Communication skills
• Research skills
• An eye for style, aesthetic and visuals
• Interest in sustainability and nature-focused content
• Ability to work independently and remotely
• Degree or coursework in Journalism, English, Communications, or related field is a plus
