Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prioritise and delegate work tasks; update supervising partner on progress.
  • Build client relationships – provide excellent client service and prompt responses and progress updates.
  • Support the firm and others – build effective relationships, uphold firm values, and assist with preparation of legal precedents, articles and marketing materials.
  • Comply with risk requirements, firm policies and all relevant professional responsibilities and legislation.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Between 2‐5 years of post-qualified experience, preferably in a strong UK Competition practice.
  • Consideration of candidates from transactional backgrounds or mixed transactional/dispute practices.
  • Regulatory experience and experience of working on mergers desirable but not essential.
  • Academic excellence – at least a 2:1 degree (or equivalent) and solicitor examinations passed first time. Include full academic details, grades, subjects and transcripts.
  • Bright self‐starter, excellent interpersonal skills, able to communicate with individuals at all levels.
  • Strong legal skills: complex drafting, negotiation and project management; good people‐management and business‐development skills.
  • Full understanding of law‐firm profitability and key drivers for financial efficiency; ability to manage costs and budgets.
