Must be able to work at both community hospitals: Campion Ward at Leamington Rehab and Nicol Unit. NHS Foundation Trust seeks a caring, compassionate, self-motivated Clinical Rehab Support Worker to work on both the Nicol Unit and Campion Ward. Both wards are GP-run, caring for patients who require sub-acute admission prevention, rehabilitation or palliative care.
This position offers an opportunity to develop as a support worker within a multi-disciplinary team. You will work flexibly/autonomously and efficiently with good organisational skills under the guidance of qualified therapists. Your role is to support and assist healthcare professionals in delivering quality patient care and rehabilitation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, reliability and teamwork are essential.
The Band 3 Clinical Support Worker will undertake high quality, caring and compassionate personal care and related duties under the direction, but not direct supervision, of the registered staff and as part of the multi-disciplinary team. You will contribute to delivering safe, effective, compassionate patient care.
Job responsibilities focus on professional values, clinical practice, communication, team working, and education/development. You will:
- Act professionally and uphold Trust standards; maintain records, ensure confidentiality and comply with Data Protection Act requirements.
- Promote a positive working environment; report accidents/incidents per Trust policies; take reasonable care of health and safety; adhere to Trust dress code and IT policies; protect children and adults from abuse and report safeguarding concerns.
- Carry out instructions of registered professionals; supervise other staff as directed; perform approved core tasks for Clinical Support Workers/Healthcare Assistants without direct supervision.
- Document care accurately and countersigned by a registered professional; prepare patients for treatment/investigations; keep clinical areas clean and safe; follow infection control procedures; chaperone/escort patients as needed; support relatives with compassion and empathy; assist with discharge processes.
- Communicate effectively within the multi-disciplinary team; handle telephone enquiries; participate in handover and documentation; use information systems as required.
- Maintain a safe, uncluttered environment; manage equipment and waste; participate in audits as directed; assist with bed preparation and stocking; support housekeeping where needed.
- Attend mandatory training (infection control, resuscitation, manual handling) and complete induction; participate in appraisals and personal development; stay up to date with policy changes.
Essential qualifications include GCSEs English and Maths (A-C) or equivalent; minimum NVQ/Diploma Level 2, willing to work to Level 3 or equivalent higher apprenticeship in healthcare. Desirable qualifications include NVQ/Diploma Level 3 or equivalent higher apprenticeship in healthcare.
Essential experience includes delivering care in a healthcare or people-centred environment; experience working as part of a team. Essential skills include competent care skills; ability to delegate appropriately; good written, verbal and non-verbal communication; competent IT skills; ability to present information clearly; ability to organise and prioritise workload; accurate note-taking. Desirable skills include competence in relevant specialist skills/tasks.
Essential personal qualities include being able to work as part of a team; compassionate, caring, empathetic; reliable.
