Job Purpose: Sells automotive parts by taking and clarifying customer orders; retrieving and selling new and replacement automotive parts; receiving and recording new parts inventory; maintaining parts databases; maintaining a safe and secure environment.
Duties:
- Answering phones
- Producing parts for the service techs
- Handling parts deliveries
- Taking customer orders by listening to and clarifying requests; identifying automotive parts; offering and explaining alternative solutions.
- Completing sales by entering purchased items into sales/inventory system; obtaining payment; adding purchase to credit account; issuing sales receipts.
- Maintaining parts inventory by verifying supplies; placing orders when stock reaches reorder points.
- Stocking items by unpacking, arranging, and placing items in bins and on shelves; updating inventory system accordingly.
- Receiving returned items by inspecting, returning payment, issuing credit, re-packing, and re-shelving; returning damaged items to supplier.
- Maintaining a safe and secure environment by following safety and security standards and procedures; complying with relevant codes.
- Updating job knowledge through participation in educational opportunities and reading about new products.
- Achieving organizational goals by accepting ownership of tasks and exploring opportunities to add value.
