The Believe Support Worker supports vulnerable women in Ellesmere Port who have had, or are at risk of having a child removed from their care. Working 20 hours per week, the support worker develops tailored support plans, facilitates group sessions, and promotes the project within the community, while contributing to mental health resource development and attending team, agency, and fundraising events.

Qualifications:

  • Experience of working within mental health support
  • Experience of working within social care
  • Understanding of local third sector organisations
  • Experience in project coordination, and working in localities/communities/C&YP settings
  • Knowledge and experience of developing and maintaining self-support peer mentoring groups
  • Experience of appropriate liaison and networking with other professionals

Location of position: Ellesmere Port, with travel to Crewe and Winsford offices.

Job purpose: To develop the Believe Project, supporting vulnerable women in the local community who are at risk of having their child removed from their care.

Time commitment: 20 hours per week.

Days worked: 9.30-4.00 - Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Rate of pay: £15.45 per hour

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Develop Believe project support groups for service users
  • To work with the Charity to develop mental health resources
  • Support the Charity in the development of the Believe project
  • To work within the local community to promote the project and the support it can provide

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Attend team meetings
  • Attend project lead meetings
  • Attend referring agency meetings
  • Attend at least 3 annual fundraisers

Enhanced DBS check required.
