Location: Tiverton, Devon. Contract: Full Time. Reporting to the Quality Manager, we have an exciting opportunity for an individual with experience in this field to join our Quality Team.
Responsibilities
- Quality Management systems – Develop, implement, and maintain quality standards and procedures. Ensure compliance with industry regulations (ISO 9001) and company policies.
- Inspection and Testing – Oversee product inspections and testing processes to ensure specifications are met. Analyse test data, identify defects, and recommend corrective actions.
- Root cause Analysis and Corrective Actions – Investigate quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Process improvement – Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance product quality and reduce costs. Support or conduct capability studies and statistical process control (SPC) to monitor and improve manufacturing processes.
- Supplier Quality Management – Collaborate with suppliers to ensure quality standards are met. Conduct supplier audits when necessary and assess vendor performance.
- Documentation and Reporting – Prepare quality documentation, including inspection plans, control plans and quality reports.
- Collaboration – Work with cross-functional teams and Value streams.
Experience / Qualifications
- Degree Qualified in a related field an advantage; or 4 years related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Capable auditor (preferably lead auditor certified but not essential).
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Proficiency in tools like Minitab, SPC software or ERP systems.
- Full and Valid driving license in good standing.
- Technical Knowledge: familiarity with quality standards (ISO, Six Sigma).
Hours Of Work
Mon – Thu 7am to 4pm. Friday 7am to 12pm. 39 hours per week. The successful applicants will be flexible over working hours and willing to undertake shift working should this be a requirement on completion of their apprenticeship and may differ to a standard Monday to Friday day shift.
