The predicted salary is between 20000 - 25000 £ per year.

Hours of work: 8.30-15.30 Mon-Fri

Working pattern: Daily - term time

Term weeks: 38 + 1 weeks school closure, minimum paid week 44.

FTC term: 01-09-2026 - 31-08-2027

We are looking to appoint a highly motivated, experienced, and enthusiastic Senior Teaching Assistant with a specialist focus and experience with ASC to join our supportive, hardworking team. This role will be working within our Resource Provision unit with a range of SEN children. Previous experience working with SEN children is essential for this role and will require the successful candidate to provide targeted support to individuals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide targeted support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including those with EHCPs
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to deliver tailored learning activities
  • Support pupils’ emotional, social, and behavioural needs
  • Adapt resources and approaches to meet individual learning needs
  • Monitor and record pupil progress and contribute to reviews
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

Essential Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience working with children with SEN (this is essential)
  • Knowledge of a range of SEN needs (e.g. ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties)
  • Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A patient, caring, and flexible approach
  • Provide and co-ordinate effective interventions with a particular focus on developing strategies for supporting students with ASC
  • Enable students to gain independence and participate fully in the curriculum
  • Have the ability to build trusting and supportive relationships with parents and external agencies
  • Be adaptable & empathetic
  • Have a minimum of 2 years recent/relevant experience
  • The ability to self-evaluate learning needs and actively learn and seek learning opportunities
