The successful candidate will work as part of a team alongside the SENCo within our school, initially within our resource provision which has 12 commissioned places across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. The role will be based within the provision, supporting individuals and small groups of pupils. The candidate will play a key role in supporting behaviour and emotional wellbeing, helping pupils to regulate and engage positively with their learning.

Responsibilities
  • Support individuals and small groups of pupils within the provision.
  • Help pupils to regulate and engage positively with their learning, and support behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
  • Attend meetings, complete paperwork for external agencies, and monitor progress.
  • Liaise closely with families to support transitions and meet care needs in line with each pupil’s EHCP.
Qualifications
  • Experience of working with pupils with SEND.
  • Role of Higher Level Teaching Assistant and Engagement and Welfare Officer.
  • The candidate will be a qualified HLTA or equivalent and will be an experienced practitioner with a genuine passion for supporting children with SEND.
Hours and Contract
  • Hours of work: mornings (but hours negotiable).
  • Working pattern: Mon–Fri term time.
  • Term weeks: 38 + 1 weeks school closure; minimum paid weeks of 44.600 per academic year.
  • FTC term: 1 September 2026 – 31 August 2027.
