Position
This role is ideal for someone with experience in care who is ready to take on more responsibility in a supportive leadership position. You will guide and inspire a team who work directly with individuals who have complex needs. You will help to create a safe, positive and engaging environment where individuals can grow in confidence, develop independence and achieve their goals. Your work will contribute directly to Henshaws' mission of empowering people to live the life they choose.
Salary: £15.02 per hour or £31,241.60 per annum
Hours per week: 40
Weeks per year: 52
Annual leave: 5 weeks plus 10 days bank holiday
Contract: Permanent
Working pattern: 3 week rolling rota with a mix of early, late and long days including weekends
Location: Henshaws Specialist College Campus, Starbeck Harrogate

Requirements
We welcome applicants who have experience in the care sector and an enthusiasm for working with young people with complex needs. Essential requirements include an NVQ Level 2 or Diploma in Health and Social Care and a willingness to work towards Level 3 within 18 months. You will need experience of providing personal care and an understanding of learning disabilities. You must be able to stay calm under pressure, communicate clearly and work in a way that promotes dignity, respect and independence. You will need to be able to push a wheelchair, support moving and handling including hoisting, and assist with personal care after training. Flexibility is essential due to the rota pattern. A commitment to safeguarding, equality and safe working practices is also required.
Desirable requirements include experience of working with young adults, knowledge of health and safety in care settings and an understanding of student rights. An enhanced DBS check with adult and child barring is required for this post.
