Job Description

Job Description How you’ll make an impact This is a high-impact analytics role focused on driving business and product insight, and helping HSOne measure, understand, and deliver value to its practices.

As the Senior Data Analyst, Business & Product Insights, you will be the hands-on engine of analytics delivery, producing the insight work that addresses the highest-value strategic questions facing Product, Commercial, and Customer teams.

You will combine strong analytical capability with sound commercial judgement, working closely with your manager to focus effort where it matters most in a fast-moving environment.

The role covers complex meaningful problems across customer, commercial, product performance, experimentation, and ROI-driven insights.

You will operate as a senior individual contributor with scope to deepen technical impact and influence as the analytics function grows.

This role reports to the Manager, Data Analytics, Business and Product Insights, and works in close partnership with Data Engineering, Product, Engineering, Commercial and executive stakeholders.

What you'll do

  • Act as a senior analytics delivery point of contact for Product, Commercial, Customer, and Revenue teams, working with your manager to triage, prioritise, and respond to requests.
  • Help shape, prioritise, and sequence your own workload, and junior members, based on business value, strategic importance, and available capacity, escalating prioritisation conflicts to your manager where required.
  • Balance short-term operational needs with longer-term, scalable insight, explicitly focusing effort on the work with the greatest impact.
  • Generate actionable, data-led insights into product performance and customer behaviour, linking feature usage to retention, growth, recall effectiveness, and commercial outcomes, and clearly communicate product value to support strategic decision-making and legacy platform migration.
  • Contribute towards the evolution of product and commercial experimentation and causal analysis practices in partnership with Product, Engineering, and the wider Data & AI team.
  • Support in the delivery of well-designed experiment frameworks, through strong hypothesis framing, metric selection, and post-test deep dive analysis, applying advanced analytical techniques (e. g. causal analysis, forecasting, segmentation) to extract insight, drive learning, and de-risk product and commercial decisions.
  • Ensure continuity of critical customer and commercial analytics workstreams you own.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, or self-serve legacy reporting and insights over time with AI/automation approaches.
  • Reduce reliance on manual or low-value analytics activities, refocusing effort on scalable, high impact insight.
  • Operate strongly hands-on in analytics day-to-day, writing SQL and/or Python to build analytical models and deliver insight, and contribute to the team code base.
  • Design and deliver advanced analyses, including churn and risk modelling, forecasting, and performance deep dives.
  • Quality-assure your own analytical outputs to ensure accuracy, clarity, and relevance, and peer-review the work of other analysts as the team grows.
  • Act as a senior technical contributor and role model within the analytics function, raising the bar on analytical thinking, delivery discipline, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Share knowledge and support more junior analysts through technical guidance, code review, IP sharing, and informal coaching as the team expands.
  • Promote an inclusive and collaborative culture, in line with the Henry Schein One values.
  • What you'll bring
  • Proven experience as a Senior Data Analyst (or equivalent) operating with significant ownership and autonomy over your own workstreams.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-impact insights across product, commercial, and customer domains.

Experienced in prioritising and delivering analytics work in fast-paced, evolving environments.

  • Exposure to healthcare or regulated environments is desirable but not essential.
  • Advanced SQL and Python skills, with the ability to work confidently across large, complex datasets.
  • Strong analytical modelling skills, including forecasting, client segmentation, and risk or churn analysis.
  • Experience working with modern analytics engineering concepts, including dbt or similar tooling.
  • Familiarity with commercial and product experimentation, AB testing, experimentation frameworks, causal analysis, and evaluation of product and commercial initiatives.
  • Comfortable working in cloud-based analytics environments; familiarity with AWS analytics or ML services is a plus but not essential.
  • Strong commercial judgement, with a clear focus on ROI, value creation, and drip-feeding value.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, able to translate complex analysis into clear, compelling insights that inform business decisions.
  • Willing to challenge the status quo and focus effort on what delivers the greatest impact.
  • Additional Information
  • UK based.
  • Occasional travel for company offsites, workshops, or collaboration sessions.
