Job Description
Junior engineers required to support our ongoing X Ray service contracts.
At the end of a six month probationary period the Junior Engineer will be able to demonstrate basic skills and general understanding of X Ray equipment and have the knowledge and understanding to carry out mechanical and electrical tests and to collect data via an electronic meter.
Junior engineers will need to be competent in using a tablet and laptop and experience with excel would be advantageous.
Job Responsibilities:
The role holder will be expected to be responsible for the following:
Daily Duties: Following training the apprentice engineer will be able to carry out mechanical and electrical testing on intra oral X ray units and collect data via an electronic testing meter.
- Field based
- To visit customers premises and to carry out defined duties
- To be able to work alone
- To be able to test and check already installed intra oral X ray units
- Follow defined test and check list
- Liaise between Supervisor, Service Desk and customer to resolve any unclear issues
- Leave the working site as clean and tidy as possible
Service and Maintenance:
Following training the Junior Engineer will be able to assist with and eventually take responsibility for the following:
Using electronic meter to collect radiation data
Carry out electrical/mechanical tests on intra oral x ray units
Send data electronically
Complete reports on work carried out whilst on site using different types of software
General Duties:
- Behave as a good ambassador of the company at all times, so the customer will be happy to do further business.
- Maintain good records of installations/repairs/services/Company equipment, tools, car, phone etc.
- Attend training events/courses as required, which may take place in the UK or overseas.
- Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required

- A good standard of education – minimum GCSE level grade A-C in Maths and
English or equivalent.
- Full driving license required
Experience:
- Ideally have evidence of some professional electrical experience or a qualification in electrical engineering.
