This role is for urgent care and patients with high clinical needs as instructed by the NHS. There are 15 x 30 minutes slots booked per day for each clinician where NHS expects a definitive treatment to be carried out; if this is not possible, they can rebook the patient to return for treatment.
Examples of high clinical needs include:
- ANY patient requiring urgent or emergency dental care.
- ANY patient requiring non-urgent dental care where:
- There is a significant risk of deterioration and/or longer-term consequences
- The patient is vulnerable for medical or social reasons (e.g. patient with particular medical conditions, looked after children, adults with care and support needs)
These appointments MUST BE reasonably managed to ensure utilisation is optimised with minimal waste but also ensure a continued balance that ensures 'same day' urgent patient presentations are available every day and appointment slots are not fully booked weeks in advance with follow up treatments leaving no capacity to accommodate those presenting with immediate needs.
All candidates must be fully qualified, GDC registered with UK experience.
