The Visitor Services Representative is responsible for welcoming and assisting patient visitors who come to see patients in the Postpartum and Labor and Delivery departments. One of their main roles is to assure that visitors are who they say they are and screen for appropriate visitation. This is done in a manner that supports an environment that is caring, supportive and safe.
Licensure and Certification: Current BLS provider card, Management of Assaultive Behavior certification within one (1) year of hire.
Education: High school graduate or GED equivalent.
Experience: 6 months experience in a customer service environment; service recovery skills preferred.
Knowledge and Skills: Service oriented behaviours required.
Physical Demands - Clerical/Administrative Non-Patient Care:
- Frequent sitting and standing/walking with frequent position change.
- Continuous use of bilateral upper extremities in fine motor activities requiring fingering, grasping, and forward reaching between waist and chest level.
- Occasional/intermittent reaching at or above shoulder level.
- Occasional/intermittent bending, squatting, kneeling, pushing/pulling, twisting, and climbing.
- Occasional/intermittent lifting and carrying objects/equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Continuous use of near vision, hearing and verbal communication skills in handling telephone calls, interacting with customers and co-workers and performing job duties.
