The Opportunity: We are seeking an exceptionally strong and experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of a brand new, purpose-built 50 million school in Rochford. This is a flagship project that demands a seasoned professional capable of overseeing all aspects of the build from inception through to successful completion and handover.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full ownership and accountability for the successful delivery of the 50 million new build school project, ensuring it is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the on-site project team, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Develop, implement, and monitor project plans, schedules, and budgets, proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
- Manage all client relationships, stakeholders, and external consultants, ensuring clear communication and expectations.
- Oversee all procurement, supply chain management, and subcontractor performance.
- Ensure rigorous adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices on site.
- Implement robust quality control procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
- Chair project meetings, produce regular progress reports, and present to senior management and clients.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation in project delivery.
Required Experience & Attributes:
- Proven track record as a Senior Project Manager on significant new build projects with individual values in excess of 30 million. Experience with education sector projects (schools, universities) is highly advantageous.
- Demonstrable leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, inspire, and manage large project teams effectively.
- Exceptional commercial acumen, with a deep understanding of contract management, cost control, and value engineering.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with all levels of stakeholders.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive, problem-solving approach with a commitment to achieving outstanding results.
- Relevant construction degree or equivalent professional qualification (e.g., CIOB).
- SMSTS, CSCS Black Card, and First Aid at Work certifications are essential.
