A well-established Tier 2 Main Contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Internals Manager to join a flagship £50m Later Living development based near Reading. This is a key site-based role overseeing the full internal fit-out package across a large-scale RC frame residential scheme. The successful candidate will take ownership of the project from drylining and 1st fix stages through to practical completion. The role requires someone capable of managing multiple subcontractors simultaneously while driving programme, quality, and health & safety standards across the project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day management of all internal fit-out works
- Coordinate and manage multiple internal subcontractors across the project
- Drive programme performance and ensure works are completed in line with key milestones
- Carry out QA inspections and maintain photographic records using Procore
- Liaise with commercial, design, logistics, and operational teams
- Ensure labour, materials, and subcontractors are coordinated efficiently
- Chair and contribute to internal progress meetings
- Monitor health & safety standards and site housekeeping
- Manage snagging, inspections, and handovers through to PC
- Liaise with Building Control, warranty providers, and Clerk of Works teams
Key Requirements:
- Strong Main Contractor background is essential
- Experience delivering large-scale residential projects
- Previous exposure to RC frame developments
- Strong internals experience across:
- Drylining
- MEP 1st & 2nd fix
- Carpentry
- Flooring
- Lift installations
- Final fit-out and finishes
- SMSTS qualified
- Strong understanding of current building regulations and QA processes
- Excellent coordination and communication skills
- Comfortable challenging subcontractors and driving programme performance
- Permanent career history preferred — freelance backgrounds are not desired
