A reputable Tier 2 Main Contractor is seeking an experienced Project Director to join their growing London division and take the lead on a £35M student accommodation scheme in Hackney Wick. This straightforward new-build project comprises three blocks – the tallest reaching seven storeys, with one block designated for commercial use. The scheme features a brickwork façade, and is coming out of gateway in November, with piling due to start in January.
The successful candidate will oversee this initial project and, upon completion, move on to lead a second scheme within the business’s expanding London pipeline.
The Role
- Overall leadership and management of the £35M student accommodation scheme.
- Drive all aspects of delivery from pre-construction through to completion.
- Provide direction and support to the site and project teams.
- Ensure the programme, quality, and safety standards are met to company and client expectations.
- Build strong relationships with the client, design team, and key stakeholders.
- Prepare to transition onto a second major project once this one is established.
About You
- Proven experience as a Project Director or Senior Project Manager leading new-build schemes £30M+.
- Background with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 main contractor, ideally within student accommodation, residential, or mixed-use sectors.
- Strong leadership, commercial, and client-facing skills.
- Technically competent, with a hands-on approach to delivery and problem-solving.
- Able to manage multiple project stages and teams effectively.
