Henry Technologies LTD, a worldwide leader in the industrial and commercial refrigeration industry, are looking to recruit an experienced QHSE Manager at our Scottish facility in Hillington Park, Glasgow. The role involves management of a small QA team locally and collaboration with Henry Group globally on wider quality and certification subjects.
Primarily, the QHSE Manager is responsible for implementation and maintenance of the company’s various quality systems (ISO 9001, Pressure Equipment Directive, ASME-UV) at the Glasgow site, with additional responsibility for all of the local HSE systems. The QHSE Manager must also be comfortable and confident collaborating with suppliers and customers on Quality subjects, and working in an inspection capacity within a production environment – specifically understanding engineering drawings and tolerances, using measuring equipment effectively, and advising on any CNC machine shop and assembly-line queries/issues.
Key Responsibilities:- Complete management of the daily operations carried out by the Quality Department and implementation of the approved Quality Systems
- ISO 9001 system control and maintenance, including management reviews and internal audits
- Effective management of all activities related to the Health and Safety development, implementation, maintenance and compliance of the company.
- Control of the company's policies, procedures, and standards governing the safety and certification of all material and personnel assets.
- Control of Standard Operating Procedures, goods-in inspection and in-production inspection
- Communication with Notified Bodies or third parties as-required for product, quality system and operator conformity assessment, qualifications and certifications; including leading external audits
- Customer return management
- Supplier auditing, collaboration, and quality-control management
- Control of all testing procedures within the company
- Maintaining calibration and certification records for all gauges and relevant equipment
The successful applicant will join the established Quality team and work alongside the production department to ensure the company’s quality manuals and processes are implemented correctly. They will also lead continuous improvement of the company’s quality system in all areas and report directly to the Technical Director.
A relevant quality system-based background in the manufacturing industry with demonstrated complete understanding of, and competence working to, ISO 9001 as well as other prescribed standards and directives is essential. A pressure equipment-related background with some permanent joining experience would be preferred. Relevant HSE qualifications (for example IOSH/NEBOSH) are desirable, but not essential as relevant training will be provided if necessary. Good communication skills, both verbal and electronic, are essential, as-is competence with MS Office applications.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in the lead role of a small on-site Quality team on daily QA tasks as well as communicating frequently and effectively with suppliers, external bodies/accreditation institutions, and other business units throughout the global Henry Group. They will also be proficient at supporting the Sales and Customer Service teams by providing detailed quality reports, root-cause-analysis, and other communications throughout the customer returns process.
ESSENTIAL:- ISO 9001 in-depth knowledge, training and audit experience (Lead Auditor ISO 9001 Qualification preferred)
- Manufacturing-based background
- Experience of Customer/Supplier collaborations with regards to Quality topics (e.g. root-cause-analysis methods, returns procedures, supplier audits etc.)
- Experience of implementing and managing a quality system
- Experience of inspection procedures and processes
- Pressure Equipment experience or training (specifically in relation to the EU PED)
- Experience of pressure test procedures and processes (both hydro & pneumatic)
- Experience of working with and specifying welding procedures and processes
