Salary: Grade 5 SCP 7 - 9, FTE salary £26,403 - £27,254 p.a. Actual Salary £9,073 - £9,315 p.a.

Hours: 14 hrs a week, Thursdays and Fridays 8.15am to 3.45pm (30 minute lunch break)

Contract type: Permanent, Part time, Term time plus additional 6 days (41 working weeks)

Start Date: 1st September 2026

The Role

  • GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths – strong English and Maths skills
  • NVQ 3 Business and Administration qualification or equivalent
  • Experience of working in a busy office/admin environment (school experience preferred but not essential)
  • Ability to manage in a fast‑paced working environment with ever changing priorities
  • Be able to work as part of a team as well as on one's own
  • Ability to work closely with the other members of the office team
  • Ability to plan and develop systems
  • Methodical with good attention to detail

What You’ll Do

  • Be responsible for preparing financial reports for governors
  • Support with the planning and setting of budgets
  • Checking payroll
  • Managing purchase orders, invoices, payments of goods and services using the school finance software
  • Journaling income on the school finance system
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Prepare for auditors as required
  • Prepare reports on incomes and expenditure
  • Obtaining quotes and ordering resources
  • Be part of a team supporting the overall work and ethos of the school
  • Be part of a team who are the first point of contact for parents/carers and all stakeholders contacting the school – either by telephone, email and face to face
  • Support our strong pastoral ethos and contribute positively to our whole school vision
  • Attend termly trust finance meetings
