Job Title: Caretaker / Estates Labourer\\n\\nAbout the Role\\nWe are looking for a practical, hands-on Caretaker/ Estates Labourer to help keep an FE college safe, functional, and looking its best. This is a varied role for someone who enjoys fixing, maintaining, and improving buildings and grounds.\\n\\nKey Responsibilities\\n\\n * \\n\\n General maintenance and repairs including fixtures, fittings, furniture, doors, and windows\\n\\n * \\n\\n Minor plumbing tasks such as fixing leaks, unblocking drains, and repairing toilet cisterns\\n\\n * \\n\\n Basic electrical duties including changing light bulbs and fuses, following safety procedures\\n\\n * \\n\\n Minor carpentry and joinery work\\n\\n * \\n\\n Painting and decorating, including preparation and touch-ups\\n\\n * \\n\\n Grounds maintenance including litter picking, clearing drains and gutters, mowing, and hedge trimming\\n\\n * \\n\\n Safe and effective use of a wide range of hand and power tools\\n\\nWhat We’re Looking For\\n\\n * \\n\\n Strong DIY skills and a proactive, can-do attitude\\n\\n * \\n\\n Practical experience across maintenance, repairs, and grounds work\\n\\n * \\n\\n Awareness of health and safety best practice\\n\\n * \\n\\n Previous experience in an education setting is desirable\\n\\n * \\n\\n An enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to apply for one.\\n\\nA great opportunity to play a key role in the day-to-day running of a vibrant college environment
