SEMH Learning Support Assistant – Milton Keynes Location: Nuneaton Hours: Part Time | 8:30am – 3:30pm Working Pattern: Term time only Pay: £15.00 per hour Duration: Ongoing We are currently looking for a Learning Support Assistant to join an alternative education setting in Milton Keynes, supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people, building positive relationships and helping students overcome barriers to learning. The Role * Provide one-to-one and small-group support to young people. * Support students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour. * Build positive and trusting relationships with students. * Encourage engagement, confidence and positive behaviour. * Support students within the classroom and wider educational environment. * Work closely with teaching and support staff to provide consistent support. About You * Experience supporting young people with SEMH, challenging behaviour, education or care is beneficial. * Strong communication and relationship-building skills. * Patient, resilient and approachable. * Able to remain calm and consistent when managing challenging situations. * Passionate about supporting young people and helping them achieve their potential. * Transferable experience will also be considered.
