This is a hands-on position focused on delivery rather than management. The successful candidate will support compliance, continuity, and risk management while maintaining service standards during a period of absence. The role does not involve procurement strategy, policy development, or team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate at Procurement Officer level with no line management or strategic responsibilities.
  • Independently manage end-to-end tendering and contract processes for goods, services, and works.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (PCR 2015) and demonstrate operational awareness of the Procurement Act 2023.
  • Work efficiently within an established procurement framework, delivering outcomes at pace with minimal supervision.
  • Support the College in maintaining audit-ready processes and adhering to governance and approval routes.

Person Specification

  • Proven experience in a procurement role, ideally within the Further Education (FE) or Higher Education (HE) sector.
  • Strong working knowledge of PCR 2015 and awareness of the Procurement Act 2023.
  • Ability to manage multiple procurement activities independently and prioritise effectively.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and compliance.
