We’re recruiting for a Head of MIS – Data, Funding & Compliance.

Salary: £51,277 - £58,000 per annum

Location: London/ Kent

Are you an experienced MIS, data or funding professional looking for a senior leadership role where your expertise can make a real difference? Henry Blue are working with an FE college group who are looking for an outstanding Head of MIS – Data, Funding & Compliance to lead the strategic development, governance and delivery of Management Information Systems (MIS) and data services across the group. This is a key role with responsibility for ensuring the accuracy, integrity and audit compliance of learner data across Further Education, Adult Skills, Apprenticeships and Higher Education. You’ll be the College’s lead expert in funding methodology, ILR compliance and data governance, helping ensure our data supports funding optimisation, performance, curriculum planning and organisational decision-making.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Lead and develop the MIS function, including Student Records, ILR, timetabling and data quality
  • Develop and deliver the College’s MIS and data strategy
  • Lead compliance with DfE, GLA, local Council and OfS funding and regulatory requirements
  • Own the integrity, validation and submission of ILR returns
  • Provide expert interpretation of complex funding rules and guidance
  • Lead data quality, audit assurance and funding-risk management
  • Oversee Higher Education data and regulatory requirements, including HESA where applicable
  • Develop funding-informed curriculum planning and support funding optimisation
  • Lead, manage and develop the MIS team while building data capability across the organisation.

What we’re looking for:

We’re seeking someone with strong experience in MIS, learner data, funding and compliance, ideally gained within an educational environment. You’ll bring extensive knowledge of areas such as curriculum management, timetabling, registers, ILR generation and examinations, alongside experience working with complex data and interpreting detailed rules and guidance. Experience with SQL and/or Oracle, database programming, educational MIS systems such as ProSolution, reporting and data analysis would be highly valuable. You’ll also need the confidence to communicate complex information clearly to senior managers and external partners. Most importantly, you’ll be a confident and collaborative leader with a strong focus on accuracy, delivery, continuous improvement and excellent service.
