Contract Type:

  • 1 x Full-Time Position – 37 hours per week (Temporary)
  • 1 x Part-Time Position – 0.6 FTE (Temporary)

Start Date: ASAP

Working Pattern (0.6 FTE Role): Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm

Role Purpose

We are seeking two committed and resilient English Lecturers to deliver GCSE English to post‑16 learners who are resitting the qualification. The successful candidates will play a key role in supporting students to develop confidence, skills, and achievement in English.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and effective GCSE English lessons to resit learners
  • Plan, prepare, and assess learning in line with awarding body requirements
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback
  • Support learners who may be disengaged or lack confidence due to previous exam outcomes
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessment, and progress
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with curriculum and support teams
  • Ability to motivate and engage learners who have not previously achieved a pass
  • High levels of resilience, patience, and adaptability
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent)
  • Experience working in FE or with post‑16 resit cohorts
