Role Purpose
We are seeking two committed and resilient English Lecturers to deliver GCSE English to post‑16 learners who are resitting the qualification. The successful candidates will play a key role in supporting students to develop confidence, skills, and achievement in English.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective GCSE English lessons to resit learners
- Plan, prepare, and assess learning in line with awarding body requirements
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback
- Support learners who may be disengaged or lack confidence due to previous exam outcomes
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessment, and progress
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Work collaboratively with curriculum and support teams
- Ability to motivate and engage learners who have not previously achieved a pass
- High levels of resilience, patience, and adaptability
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent)
- Experience working in FE or with post‑16 resit cohorts
