We currently have an excellent career opportunity within our Conveyancing Department. We are looking for an experienced Conveyancing Assistant to provide support to the Conveyancer.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the Conveyancer to progress the transaction in accordance with laid down procedures and standards.
- Liaison with clients and keeping them properly informed at all times.
- Provide support and assistance to the team supervisor as and when required.
- Ensure the Case Management system is used to progress cases and is kept up to date at all times if applicable.
- Undertake administrative duties as directed.
- Provide first point of contact for telephone calls and visitors to the branch/office, taking messages, handling queries using own initiative and knowledge, and escalating to Conveyancer where required.
- Work in the best interest of the client and the firm and provide the highest standards of client care at all times.
- Handle all monies belonging to clients within the Solicitors Regulatory Authority and/or Law Society guidelines and as may be directed by the firm’s financial regulations as set out in the Office Procedures Manual.
- Assist in the training of other staff as required, including the provision of training in the use and application of SOS Connect case management system or any replacement for that system.
- Carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required in relation to a post of this nature.
The person we are looking for:
- Previous experience of working in Conveyancing.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel and case management software (preferably SOS Connect).
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent telephone manner.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Ability to analyse information and present accurate findings.
- Ability to work unsupervised at times.
- Able to take own initiative.
- Able to work with high volumes.
- Will want to make a difference and will go that extra mile for clients and colleagues.
