Hennessy Collective is partnering with an established manufacturer to find an experienced Health & Safety Supervisor to join their team.
This is a hands-on role for someone who believes effective Health & Safety happens on the floor, not from behind a desk.
You’ll be highly visible throughout the facility, working alongside employees, supervisors and leadership to identify risks, strengthen safe work practices and make sure safety programs are working where they matter most — in the day-to-day operation.
The Role
You’ll play a key role in the day-to-day Health & Safety function, balancing regulatory requirements with practical, floor-level support.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining a consistent presence on the manufacturing floor, identifying hazards and addressing safety concerns as they arise
- Coaching employees and supervisors on safe work practices and helping build accountability across the operation
- Supporting compliance with Ontario OHSA, WSIB and Ministry of Labour requirements
- Managing WSIB claims, modified work and return-to-work coordination
- Leading incident and near-miss investigations, identifying root causes and ensuring corrective actions are completed
- Supporting the JHSC, including meetings, inspections and follow-up
- Reviewing and improving safety programs, procedures and training
- Conducting workplace inspections and identifying opportunities to reduce risk
- Supporting safe practices related to PPE, LOTO, working at heights, confined spaces and other higher-risk activities
- Coordinating emergency preparedness activities, including fire drills and spill response
- Tracking safety trends and providing leadership with practical recommendations for improvement
What We're Looking For
We’re looking for someone who already understands the realities of Health & Safety in a busy manufacturing environment.
- 5+ years of Health & Safety experience within an Ontario manufacturing environment
- Experience working within a unionized facility
- Strong knowledge of Ontario OHSA and WSIB requirements
- Hands-on experience with WSIB claims and return-to-work programs
- Experience with workplace investigations, inspections and corrective actions
- A degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, or equivalent relevant industrial experience
- JHSC Part 1 and Part 2 certification is highly preferred
Just as important, you’re comfortable building relationships across the floor. You can coach, challenge when needed and work collaboratively with both employees and leadership to keep safety moving in the right direction.
Why Consider It?
This is an opportunity to join a stable, established manufacturing organization that continues to invest in its people, operations and workplace safety.
You’ll have the chance to be visible, hands-on and genuinely involved in how Health & Safety is managed and improved across the facility.
