About the Role

The successful candidate will bring strong subject expertise, practical industry experience, and a genuine passion for inspiring the next generation of engineers.

Main Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons for BTEC and T Level Engineering courses.
  • Teach a variety of units, including health and safety, Electronics and Mechatronics, Circuit Boards, Quality Management in Engineering, Engineering Projects, and any other electronic related units and practical workshop skills.
  • Support students in developing both theoretical understanding and practical technical skills.
  • Track student progress, provide timely and constructive feedback, and contribute to internal and external assessments.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to uphold high standards and meet curriculum and awarding-body requirements.
  • Keep up to date with current industry practices and evolving qualification standards.

About You

Essential:

  • Relevant Degree
  • Teaching qualification (or working towards a full teaching qualification)
  • Teaching experience (or professional work experience)
  • Experience of teaching the specified subject(s) or course(s)
  • Commitment to active and student-centred learning
  • Commitment to keeping up-to-date with educational developments affecting the work of the College and the subject/course areas covered by the post
  • Energy, enthusiasm and the ability to communicate effectively with students and staff
  • Well-developed organisational skills
  • To work collaboratively with a committed team of teachers and support staff

Desirable:

  • Previous experience of providing tutorial support to students
