Type: Permanent Overview Henley recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join a leading M&E contractor delivering prestigious commercial fit-out projects across Central London.

This role offers the opportunity to lead mechanical packages valued between £5 million and £10 million, taking full responsibility for project delivery from pre-construction through to handover.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing large-scale commercial mechanical installations and delivering projects safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Job Description As the Lead Mechanical Project Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing mechanical fit-out projects with values ranging from £5m to £10m.
  • Leading and managing site-based mechanical teams.
  • Managing and coordinating mechanical subcontractors.
  • Taking ownership of project programmes and ensuring key milestones are achieved.
  • Financial management including budgeting, cost control, forecasting, procurement, and reporting.
  • Reviewing and managing mechanical design information, technical submissions, and design approvals.
  • Liaising with clients, consultants, main contractors, and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.
  • Monitoring quality throughout installation, commissioning, snagging, and final handover.
  • Delivering projects on time, within budget, and to client expectations. Experience and Qualifications To be considered, you must have:
  • Proven experience as the Lead Mechanical Project Manager on commercial mechanical fit-out projects with a mechanical package value of £5 million or more.
  • Experience delivering projects from pre-construction through to completion.
  • Strong leadership experience managing site teams and subcontractors.
  • Excellent commercial and financial management skills.
  • Experience managing mechanical design coordination and approvals.
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing (minimum requirement).
  • SSSTS certification.
