Working Foreman - Carpentry

Job Title: Carpentry Working Foreman Location: Eastbourne, East Sussex Salary: Competitive, based on experience Job Type: Full-time, Self Employed (CIS) Job Description: We are looking for an experienced Carpentry Working Foreman to join our team in Eastbourne. This is a hands-on role, requiring strong leadership skills to manage a team of 6-8 carpenters while also actively working on-site. You will be responsible for overseeing both 1st and 2nd fix carpentry across residential and commercial projects, ensuring high standards of workmanship, site safety, and project timelines. Key Responsibilities: * Lead and supervise a team of carpenters, ensuring work is completed to a high standard. * Work on the tools, assisting with 1st and 2nd fix carpentry as required. * Coordinate daily tasks and ensure efficient workflow on-site. * Liaise with site managers, contractors, and clients to maintain smooth operations. * Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies. * Conduct quality checks and problem-solve any on-site issues. * Manage materials, tools, and equipment to keep projects on track. Requirements: * Proven experience as a Working Foreman or Lead Carpenter. * CSCS card (mandatory). * Strong 1st and 2nd fix carpentry skills (residential and commercial). * Ability to lead and manage a team effectively. * Good understanding of health and safety regulations. * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans. * Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. * Full UK driving license (preferred but not essential).
