The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for a range of construction projects. You will work closely with directors, commercial staff, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure competitive and commercially sound bids.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for residential and commercial developments
- Analyse drawings, specifications, and project documentation
- Obtain and assess quotations from subcontractors and suppliers
- Produce bills of quantities and pricing schedules
- Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal teams throughout the tender process
- Assist with procurement and budgeting during pre-construction phases
- Maintain accurate estimating records and cost databases
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Estimator within the construction industry
- Experience working on residential and/or commercial developments
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and pricing
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and commercial skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office packages
- Strong communication and organisational abilities
- Full UK driving licence preferred
