An experienced Structural Steel Design Manager is required to lead the design and detailing of structural steel projects. The role will involve producing accurate technical drawings using Tekla, coordinating design information from clients and engineers, and ensuring fabrication and installation drawings are delivered to a high standard. The successful candidate will also oversee external designers and draughtsmen, carry out site surveys when required, and work closely with the workshop and installation teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and accurately.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce accurate Tekla drawings and models from client and engineer information.
- Prepare fabrication drawings for the workshop and installation drawings for site teams.
- Manage and review the work of subcontracted designers and draughtsmen.
- Ensure all drawings meet project specifications and structural requirements.
- Carry out site surveys and measurements when required.
- Liaise with engineers, clients, and internal teams to resolve design queries.
- Coordinate drawing revisions and ensure timely issue of updated information.
