We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a successful and growing residential developer delivering high-volume new-build housing projects across the Slough and Berkshire region. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused Quantity Surveyor with proven experience in volume housebuilding who is looking to play a key role in managing costs and maximising project profitability from inception through to final account.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing all commercial aspects of multiple new-build residential developments.
- Preparing and managing budgets, cost plans, and forecasts.
- Procurement of subcontractors and suppliers.
- Preparing tender documentation and carrying out tender analysis.
- Negotiating subcontract agreements and managing subcontractor accounts.
- Monitoring project costs, valuations, variations, and cash flow.
- Producing monthly cost/value reconciliation reports.
- Managing payments, final accounts, and commercial reporting.
- Working closely with site, technical, and land teams to ensure commercial objectives are achieved.
- Identifying commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within volume housebuilding or large-scale residential development.
- Strong understanding of new-build residential construction processes.
- Experience managing subcontractor procurement and account management.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent negotiation and commercial management skills.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts and cost control procedures.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant surveying software.
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline (preferred).
- Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or working towards chartership is advantageous.
