Freelance - Day rate 2 days per month
An established multi-disciplinary construction consultancy is seeking a Consultant – Planning & Delay Analysis to join its growing team. The consultancy specialises in dispute avoidance, dispute resolution, expert witness services, project and commercial management, programme management, and risk analysis.
Reporting to the Divisional Lead, the successful candidate will provide planning, programming, delay analysis, and dispute resolution support to clients across a range of construction projects. Key Responsibilities
- Review, analyse, and provide advice on construction programmes.
- Undertake planning and delay analysis to support project delivery and dispute resolution.
- Assist clients in identifying, mitigating, and managing programme risks.
- Provide commercially focused advice on delay, disruption, and time-related matters.
- Support the preparation and assessment of extension of time claims.
- Assist with dispute avoidance and resolution services.
- Deliver training and presentations on planning and delay-related topics.
- Work alongside commercial consultants, legal teams, and other project stakeholders.
- Represent clients in meetings, negotiations, and dispute forums where required.
- Support business growth initiatives and the development of new services.
Candidate Profile
- A construction-related degree.
- A minimum of 7 years’ industry experience.
- Experience in planning, programming, delay analysis, or time-related dispute resolution.
- Strong knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts.
- A sound understanding of construction law and project controls principles.
- Excellent analytical, communication, report-writing, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience using planning software such as Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
- A collaborative approach and strong stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- A full UK driving licence.
Professional chartership or progress towards a recognised professional qualification would be advantageous.
