About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bid Writer to join our growing team based in Romford. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional with strong social housing experience to play a key role in securing new business opportunities across planned maintenance, refurbishment, repairs, and compliance contracts.
The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality, compelling bid submissions and supporting the wider pre-construction and business development teams throughout the tender process.
Key Responsibilities
- Write, edit, and coordinate high-quality PQQ, SQ, ITT, and tender submissions
- Produce compelling responses tailored to social housing and public sector clients
- Work closely with operational, commercial, and estimating teams to gather technical information and case studies
- Ensure all submissions are completed accurately and within strict deadlines
- Manage and maintain bid content libraries and supporting documentation
- Review tender opportunities and support bid/no-bid decisions
- Ensure submissions align with client requirements, frameworks, and compliance standards
- Attend tender review meetings and contribute to bid strategy discussions
- Continuously improve bid quality, presentation, and win rates
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience as a Bid Writer within the social housing, construction, or property services sector
- Strong understanding of social housing frameworks, planned maintenance, repairs, refurbishment, and compliance works
- Excellent written English and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work under pressure
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience producing successful public sector tender submissions
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and bid management systems
Desirable Experience
- Knowledge of frameworks including NHF, PAS 2030/2035, CCS, or other public procurement routes
- Experience within responsive repairs, decarbonisation, or planned works contracts
- APMP qualification advantageous but not essential
