A successful demolition company located in the midlands is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor with a passion to develop their skills by joining their management team. This opportunity will enable the successful candidate to work closely with more experienced colleagues, becoming a valued member of this Department. Initial duties will include but may not be limited to the following activities:

  • Negotiate Contracts (both Main Contract and Subcontract)
  • Break Estimates down into Cost Budgets
  • Tender and Procure Subcontract and Supplier Packages
  • Prepare and issue Applications for Payment
  • Liaise with Accounts Departments to advise them of costs and revenue matters
  • Assess and Approve Subcontract Applications for Payment and Supplier Payments
  • Value Variations/Changes/Compensation Events and provide necessary substantiation
  • Prepare notifications of delay and petitions to extend programme, including agreeing time awards
  • Prepare notifications for, and valuation of Loss and Expense, including agreeing additional sums due
  • Prepare and update Project Programmes (Gantt Charts) to reflect changes
  • Work with Site Teams to create Cost-Value-Forecasts (CVF) for the forthcoming period (month)
  • Complete Cost-Value Reconciliation (CVR) report for completed period (month)
  • Advise Operations Team of any cost implications or commercial risks of any changes, delays etc.

  • Professional qualification or experience in Quantity Surveying
  • Experience in Demolition, Asbestos Removal, Geotechnical and Civil Engineering Projects
  • Updated knowledge of building codes
  • Exceptional written and spoken English skills
  • Exceptional math skills
  • Self-motivated personality
  • Attention to detail
  • Organisation and time management skills
