QS / Commercial Manager - Office Fit-Out Hatfield £50,000-£80,000 per annum DOE We are currently seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager to join an established and growing fit-out contractor on a permanent basis, working on high-quality office fit-out and refurbishment projects across Hertfordshire and the surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded professional looking to develop their career within a successful and expanding fit-out business. The Role You will be responsible for the commercial management of office fit-out projects from pre-construction through to completion and final account. Key responsibilities include: Managing the commercial performance of projects Preparing budgets, forecasts and cost reports Procurement and management of subcontract packages Preparing and agreeing valuations and applications for payment Managing variations, change and commercial risk Reviewing and negotiating subcontractor accounts Cost control and cash-flow management Preparing and agreeing final accounts Working closely with Project Managers and site teams Maintaining strong client and subcontractor relationships Providing commercial advice throughout the project lifecycle Experience Required The successful candidate will ideally have: 3+ years' experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within construction or fit-out Experience working on office fit-out, refurbishment or commercial interiors projects Strong knowledge of subcontractor procurement and package management Experience managing variations, valuations and final accounts Good understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes Strong commercial and financial awareness Excellent negotiation and communication skills Ability to manage multiple projects or packages effectively Strong attention to detail and organisational skills A proactive approach and the ability to work independently Candidates with experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager will be considered. Relevant qualifications such as RICS, CIOB, HNC/HND or a degree in Quantity Surveying/Construction would be advantageous but are not essential where the candidate has strong relevant experience.
