Overview
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee / Junior Mechanical Estimator to join a busy and growing Plumbing and Heating team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career within mechanical estimating.
You will work closely with experienced members of the estimating team, gaining exposure to the tendering, pricing and design process for a variety of plumbing and heating projects.
The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of plumbing and heating services, strong numerical and IT skills, and a genuine desire to learn and develop within the mechanical building services sector.
Previous hands-on or site-based plumbing experience would be highly advantageous but is not essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the estimating of plumbing and heating packages across a range of development and construction projects.
- Support the estimating team with the preparation and submission of tenders.
- Assist with project design and the development of mechanical service solutions.
- Raise enquiries with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations.
- Assist with obtaining and managing tender enquiries from both new and existing clients.
- Carry out basic take-offs and measurements from drawings and tender documents.
- Candidate Requirements
- A strong interest in pursuing a career within mechanical estimating and building services.
- Previous plumbing, heating or mechanical experience would be advantageous.
- On-site plumbing experience would be beneficial.
- Good numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong IT and computer skills.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office would be advantageous.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
