About the Role

We are recruiting for an experienced Cost Estimator to join a well-established commercial fit-out contractor based in Newmarket.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded estimator to play a key role in securing and delivering a wide range of interior fit-out projects across the commercial sector.

You'll be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders, liaising with suppliers and subcontractors, and working closely with the commercial and project delivery teams to ensure successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for commercial fit-out projects.
  • Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
  • Complete quantity take-offs and produce accurate pricing schedules.
  • Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Identify value engineering opportunities where appropriate.
  • Attend site visits and pre-tender meetings when required.
  • Work closely with the commercial and operations teams throughout the tender process.
  • Maintain estimating records and assist with handovers to the delivery team.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Cost Estimator or Estimator within the commercial fit-out sector.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials and pricing.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent numerical, analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimating software.
  • Full UK driving licence preferred.
